NOTICE TO NEARBY RESIDENTS

Temporary shutdown of Beenyup stack

As part of the Plant upgrades at Beenyup Wastewater Treatment Plant the Alliance will be refurbishing the existing stack to improve odour treatment and plant efficiency.

In the Week commencing 9 November, the stack will be shut down for 24 hours to safely remove the top 15 metres of the stack. During the 24 hour shutdown increased chemical dosing will occur to manage any possible odour.

With the top section removes the stack will recommence normal operations for the scheduled ten days then shutdown for a second 24 hours to safely reposition the refurbished top section. As before, there will be additional chemical dosing to minimise odour.

Greater detail of the process will be included in the November edition of News2date which will be distributed on the weekend of the 7/8 November.

We thank you for your patience during the upgrades to the Beenyup Wastewater Treatment Plant and if you have any enquiries please call Alliance Stakeholder Manager Luke Bolton on 9215 8315.
